Random Thoughts

Its been almost 12 hours since Obama was inagurated.......the troops are still in Iraq, the Dow dropped again today, and I still dont have free health care. I know 12 hours isnt much time, but damn...should have at least one of these problems solved by now. lol.

But on a serious note, as I said in yesterday's post its gonna take some time for all these changes. Ive never been an Obama supporter, but I do support whoever is leading my country. I hope he achieves all the goals he has set and hope he has great success. If he succeeds, then the country succeeds.

Further prove of the stupidiness of the general public (and also reasons why competent pharmacists/nurses/doctors/health care professionals are desperately needed):
Today a patient comes into the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for doxycycline. After completing the sale I tried to counsel her on the medication. I say tried, because I dont think she ever heard what I was saying. The conversation is as follows (slightly paraphrased.)

Concerned intern: Ma'am you dont want to take this with milk.....

Patient who didnt care what I was saying: I always take this with milk.

Concerned intern: Yes, but you shouldnt take this with milk because....

Patient who is wasting their money who interrupts the concerned intern: Yes I always take this with milk.

Apathetic Intern: Ok...have a good night.

Ladies and gentleman...why the general public cannot take care of themselves.

On the bright side, I got a ticket to the basketball game tomorrow night. I always get cold chills when I walk into Rupp. Best place in America ever.

First spring training game for the Reds is in 36 days. Opening day in 45 days. Vegas in 47 days.

My last random thought for the night....Bret Michaels is a genius. He is currently in the third season trying to find his "Rock of Love". Or as I see it...sexing up as many crazy, slutty, insecure stripper/pornstar-looking girls without having to put in the effort of dating/swooning/spending time and money/etc. He doesnt even have to act like he likes them and they throw themselves at him and claim to be madly in love. And by love I actually mean wanting him to caddle prode their oyster ditch with his lap rocket (thanks bloodhound gang). Did I mention they are all slutty and stripper hot?! Honestly, some of them looks like they would be sticky if you touched them. Anyway...today I salute Bret Michaels. Pure genius.

New News

So Im going to Vegas in April. Im guessing that when I get back Ill take off the rest of the year because Ill be a super millionaire.

Im suprised that UK wasnt ranked after last week. But maybe that will just motivate the team to play harder this week to prove they deserve the national recognition.

So appearantly tomorrow begins the most wonderful time ever in our American history. Im not buying that there will be this big "change", but I do know that something good needs to happen to get the world turned around. There is a lot more wrong out there than just the economy and other topics constantly in the media. And its gonna take a lot more than just one man in the White House to fix.

I never got out of school when I was younger for it "being too cold." If parents had enough sense to properly dress their kids then there wouldnt be a need for a missed day of school. Every day when I drive to work/rotations I see kids waiting for the bus barely wearing a jacket. Some kid even had on shorts last week. They either have no common sense or their parents dont have any sense. Either way there is a disconnect here. However if you ask the parents its someone elses fault that their kid is a dumbass. Lil junior shouldnt be responsible for taking care of himself. The teachers/principals of the school systems should be teaching the kids how to take care of themselves. Bullshit. Quit being lazy and teach your kids how to care for themselves.

Thats enough for now. Hopefully Ill be able to write more this week. It is a lot harder than I thought to come up with something that I would hope someone else would like to read.

Random Thoughts

I witnessed awesome last night. Meeeeeeks.

Ive decided to go to work with a positive outlook...it seems to make everything go a lot better even when I know it sucks sometimes.

This is the first year I actually wrote my resolutions out on paper....I may post them later cause some are funny.

This blog will be better once I graduate so I can share a greater variety of stories and information.

I hate the media and then sensationalism of stories that really arent that important.

I am very opionionated and look forward to sharing my thoughts.

I think retail pharmacists are eventually going to have to stand up for themselves or they will soon be wearing visors and headsets (see McDonald's).

Im doing a good job eating decent and working out. My weekend habits ruins all my progress.

Im excited about Louisville.

More later.

Welcome to 2009!

Thought I would start a blog cause all the cool kids are doing it. This will be a little place for me to share my thoughts and feelings on all the things I love (bourbon, sports, world events, pharmacy, etc) and hate (bourbon, sports, world events, pharmacy, etc). I will also share stories and adventures as I finish up my education and enter the workforce. Maybe share some insight into current events, past stories, and general going ons in my life. Hopefully you will find this blog amusing, funny, sad, and just damn good entertainment.
